Toronto specifically. Anyone know if I'm able to use my data plan (t-mobile) without being charged a shit ton of money in Canada? Also, are there any 2nd hand auto stores that sell parts (like steering wheels and seats) near by? I only ask this because I've seen those documentaries about these type of stores in Japan, but I've never seen these types of stores in NJ. I was wondering since Canada doesn't seem to have strict import laws, if they would have 2nd hand aftermarket auto parts stores.

Our phone companies are pretty bad too, so yeah, good luck on getting your bills in time.

Stuff like St. Lawrence Market, Taste of the Danforth, and the Bluffs are must-visits in T Dot. There's also many good restaurants serving all kinds of food.

Not sure of T-mobile, but I get with international roaming charges on Verizon. Not as crazy expensive as the Bahamas, but enough to stay the hell off data.

My tip is to poke around the junkyards - aftermarket parts take some time to find, but they're there - i saw a brand new set of Tein springs on a junked Rx-8. There is a pretty spectacular dealer called Grand Touring Automobiles in Toronto- they're right near a lotus dealer as well. Parking (and driving in general) is a sport (not for the faint of heart).

Unless you get an add-on for your plan to use data specifically in Canada, I'd stay the hell off the data network. It'll work (probably service from Rogers) but it'll be a pricey bill. If you ever need WiFi, visit a Tim Horton's, they're everywhere and I think they've all got free WiFi now. Starbucks too, I think.

I'm not aware of any of any specific 2nd hand parts stores but I do know there are importers for engines and cars so they may have parts you might be looking for.

Alternatively there is Kijiji, our equivalent of Craigslist, which may have some bits from some of the JDM cars running around. You could look on there and meet up with people while you're here.

If you drive on the 401 give 'er. That's the Canadian way.

Sometimes, I want to go to a place that doesn't have too much grease on it. (That and I'm trying to find some second hand recaro seats, and I prefer to not buy things online).

Also, I haven't encountered a pick it yourself junkyard in NJ. I usually have to travel into PA :(

I'm in Toronto. I don't know of any second-hand auto shops though. Anything else you wanna know about the city car-wise?

Look these guys up when you get to Canada. They will fix you up.

They are are exactly 148 beer stores North of Toronto at a place called Possum Lake.
